Wall St. Journal reports Jeff Bezos' press conference detailing very positive 1st quarter results yesterday at a time when companies all around are not doing so well. To a question about Kindle plans and whether Amazon will "unleash" their computing power to compete more with netbooks, Bezos replied: "We think reading is an important enough activity that it deserves a purpose-built device. That's really a sweet spot for us."
